How to sign-in to gtalk with multiple id’s

By | 4 April, 2012

Many of us have multiple Google id’s, I actively use 3 mail id’s (job’s demand) and there are 4 5 other mail id’s which are lying dormant. Many of you probably know how to work around and manage all mail id’s from one which acts as default. Please ignore unless you want to know how to sign-in to Gtalk with multiple Google ids. But if are the one having a tough time managing all the accounts on the web and phone, here’s what you need to do

Gtalk: You want to sign-in to Gtalk with multiple Google-id’s, well that’s possible. Just follow these simple steps

1) Right click on the desktop

2) Select New

3) Select Shortcut

4) Paste this into the text box:

“c:program filesGoogleGoogle talkgoogletalk.exe”/nomutex

5) Click Next, Name it whatever: Gtalk Plus, or MultiGtalk and Click OK.

If you want the same on your phone (iPhone, android, Blackberry) , you need to use some 3rd party app like “meebo” http://www.meebo.com/meebomobile/

Note: – Meebo sucks battery on androids

Also we have noticed that if you configure more than one Gmail id on your android phone, Gtalk takes the first mail id as default and to change the same you need to reset the phone.
